Why not let Cozyfloor also install your finished floor covering. Whether it may be laminate, solid wood or engineered hardwood flooring. We are fully capable and knowledgeable on all aspects of which products are suitable for your particular needs. In fact Cozyfloor is a subsidiary company from our already established flooring business.
The choices of products on the market are now endless, however we only use leading brand names that have proven reliability and have been tested for use over floor heating systems.
LAMINATE
The primary product, which we supply and recommend is quickstep with the unique uniclick locking system. There product range is available in 3 different levels of quality to suite different budgets, the 700 range, 800 range, and the 950 range. Please click links to view their range in more detail.
HARDWOOD
Although a lot of manufacturers state that there product can be
used over floor heating systems we would advise against using a
solid wood floor in conjunction with heating elements. Because of
the heat generated by the carbon elements the wood fibres dry out
more than they would do in a conventional installation. Unless the
manufacturers have kiln dried the timber to lower moisture content
than normal, gaps will appear in the floor. The safest option is
to use engineered wood flooring as explained above. However if you
require a hardwood floor installing please do not hesitate to contact
us. We are fully knowledgeable on all aspects of installation and
have access to all the major brands. All sub floors are checked
for moisture content, which determines suitability of installation,
and a hydrometer test is taken to check relative humidity. If conditions
are not correct we will not install the floor. We pride ourselves
on quality workmanship and would hope that all of our past customers
would recommend us to a friend or relative. Most companies are not
knowledgeable on hardwood flooring and will just install without
taking the appropriate measures, this is ultimately were problems
occur, with products failing.
ENGINEERED WOOD
Engineered boards are built up using several different layers of
wood bonded together, with each layer at right angles to the previous
layer. Finally a thick veneer of your chosen timber is
bonded to the top surface creating the appearance of a real wood
floor but with the stability of a man made product. One other advantage
of this product is that it is often based upon a glue free locking
system similar to the one used on laminate flooring. This improves
installation time and allows the floor panels to be replaced easily
if they are damaged or even if access is required under sub floors
to electric cables, drains, heating pipes etc in the future. You
could even take the floor with you if you move house!
DESIGN VINYL
We also offer a supply and installation service
using vinyl planks, and vinyl tiles. These have the benefit of been
able to be used in wet areas such as bathrooms, saunas etc. As the
product is more flexible it can also be installed easier and neater
around pipes and sanitaryware. Because the product does not lock
together like laminate and wood flooring you can combine it with
other vinyl products simply by butt joining them and sticking directly
to the sub floor. This means that you can create your own floor
using combinations of different products. For example you could
have a tile effect border with an inlay in the middle of wood plank
laid diagonly. You quite simply design your own flooring. www.karndean.co.uk
